Meet David.

David Hudson is the founder and CEO of Aluta Strategies.

He brings more than a decade of high-level experience in digital strategy — from serving as the associate director of content at the White House and helping the Obama Administration find new and engaging ways to communicate with Americans across the country, to leading the Motion Picture Association’s digital operation and advancing the policy priorities of the world’s foremost film studios.

In his previous agency work, David crafted and executed digital strategies for a wide range of businesses, organizations, and institutions, including the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture, Gilead Sciences, and more.

A staunch believer in the importance of quality journalism, David serves on the board of States Newsroom, a national network of state-focused news outlets providing expert reporting on state government, policy, and politics. He also serves on the advisory committee of the National Press Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on training and educating journalists to succeed in our increasingly complex news and media landscape.

Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, David is a proud graduate of the University of Virginia, holding bachelor’s degrees in both English and African American & African Studies. He now lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and two sons — and when he’s not working, you’ll probably find him looking for a new and interesting documentary to watch, cheering his older son on at soccer practice, or getting in a quick Peloton ride.

Feel free to send him a note at david@alutastrategies.com if you want to pick his brain about a potential project, find out where the ‘Aluta’ name comes from, or just make his acquaintance.
